The Melbourne mother-of-two’s concept Brainstorm in a Teacup has helped more than 400 mums in business in the UK and Australia gain the technical know-how to move forward. It was this idea that secured her spot among Australia’s 100 most innovative products or services in one of the largest innovation awards of its kind in Australia, the Anthill Magazine `Smart 100’ Index. Ms Price said the idea was developed after mums were leaving her Businessmums’ Networking Lunches inspired, but lacking the skills to move forward. With limited funds to access business support, she decided to bring together six business mums to use the skills and experiences from their previous professions to support each other all for the price of a coffee and a magazine. “It recognises mums in business for what they are — not women who have been out of the workforce for years, brains soft from having babies, but intelligent, experienced business folk with great ideas.
